Russia decided to block RuTracker (biggest BitTorrent tracker and website over there). In response, RuTracker has stopped allowing rightsholders to block content and is opening its tracker to DHT (allowing all content to be accessible from all BitTorrent clients). Also, thousands of proxies are spawning and I'm sure the VPN market will benefit from that. So yeah, well done Russia. Source
Meh, TPB's content has ups and downs these days. Sometimes I can find really good stuff on it, sometimes not. Obviously I'm talking about Linux distributions, and copyrighted music and movies and games.
Currently reading some King Arthur stories from the 19th century, and the ebook version (I assume it's the Guteberg version) is full of problems, like the aforementioned tne.
That would be horrible. Google is supposed to have a pretty slick OCR software. I am not sure if they are sharing it yet now that they got in trouble for copying all of those books and putting them online.
It's better when the ebook comes directly from the publisher's electronic version, which came straight from the author's electronic manuscript, but it's still hit or miss.
@TigerhawkT3 Yeah. There are also a lot of little publishing houses that have been created to help distribute eBooks for authors that would otherwise not have a book. I tend to see a drop in editing from those books. A lot of the books are good but they have mistakes that any reputible publish would not allow in print.

Gutenberg's version of The Three Musketeers was so problematic I ended up proofreading it and getting a production credit. And I only switched to that version because the paper edition I had from the 90s was full of errors as well (different errors).
I found out recently that the Swedish online help (F1) for the Microsoft Office products are machine translated from English, sometimes with questionable results. Except of course the embedded images which are still in English.
At my previous company the filter was very lax. I think the only thing I ever saw it block was a site with song lyrics (blocked as "gambling"; I dunno).
Contrast with the company I worked for before that, and you literally could not get work done if it had any Internet research component.
Well, blame my bad tools (or Stack Overflow's using Google AJAX), so my tools is broken for Google (even Google AJAX), so I can't visit Stack Overflow...until I fixed it just now.
@KevinGuan I used that when I worked at Abercrombie to test our app internationally. I was in the US connecting to servers in Europe and Asia, so I'm not sure what your experience will be like trying to connect the other way around.
