is there anything like this in node that is widely accepted? i see some packages for healtcheck but nothing popular (at least when it comes to github stars)

@Srle health checks are usually application-specific

so one should implement it manually right?
lets say that application needs to check RabbitMQ, http, file system, postgreSql so how to do health check? What i have in mind is just
1. RabbitMq, assert dummy exchange and dummy queue, publish and consume it, if ok => RabbitMq is "UP"
2. GET /dummy, receive response, http is "UP"
3. read and write to dummy file if ok, file system is "UP"
4. read write to dummy database if ok, db is "UP"

@Srle it's application-specific, e.g. rabbitmq has /api/aliveness-test/, see hg.rabbitmq.com/rabbitmq-management/raw-file/rabbitmq_v2_2_0/…

Intended for use by monitoring tools. If everything is working correctly, will return HTTP status 200 with body:
{"status":"ok"}

Good evening, how do I stop repeating form id when selecting inputs in jquery? For example avoiding $('#myformid #country') $('#myformid #city'). Is doing something like var myForm = $('#myformid'); myForm.find('#city) is a good idea?

I am using the form id to avoid confusion with other elements with the same id.

@Muhammet you shouldn't have 2 elements with the same id on an HTML page.

If you give your form a name then it's even more easilly accessible: document.forms.formName or document.formName

otherwise it's not an identifier

@FlorianMargaine they can be in other pages, same merged script is loaded for all pages.

You should give your inputs names and find them by their names; names aren't supposed to be globally unique.

You already should give them a name, after all.

I meant like I might use #country on some other element in some other place.

It's still good practice to name your forms and inputs, so as a result you won't have to use an id to get them.

@Zirak that makes sense, but what if I have some input on other page with same name and the script executes for that? If I use it with the form id together, it won't happen. That was my point.

@Muhammet So you first access the form, and then you access the form's input.

Your original point is valid. To stop repeating yourself, store the form in some variable and query against it.

@Zirak Thanks just wanted to make sure, using id seems redundant when it can be targeted by name, but it's easier to target by id :)

Not really. You can access form inputs by doing form.elements.inputName
