@Adi first you have to fetch all data from database and store in one arrayList and set that arrayList to in listview custom adapter. At first Listview will be invisible. When you type in autocomplete textview you need to show listview using filter in adapter class

i found in most of example they are doing sync from My sql to sqlite then search from sqlite

If you don;t then you need to keep your data on temp base like in variables or fetch that much data only which you want to use.

@Adi According to ME while communicating with My-SQL and Android App between them there is so called webservice. are you following same process or having something different?

i know webservices require

and in place of webservices I m using servlets and i know how to use them but I want to know how to set the data from servlets/webservices to that search bar when search is initiated @SilentKiller

so you just need to pass selected and accurate params, pass to webservice which will build query and return data to you.

@Adi you need to send each characters to webservice and show data in suggestion list this will slow your performance
