At least my penchant for micro-optimization manifests after the project is complete and I know where the bottlenecks exist :)

hi all. anyone proficient in xpath? SO doesn't appear to have a chat room for it

@rdlowrey b/c stakeholders fail to understand agile processes. as developers, it falls on us to explain "just in time" development

they tend to think in terms of "how can i cover all bases?" rather than "what do i need now to solve this problem?"

point taken. how do i code multiple values for one XPath attribute?

for instance: /pidx:Invoice/pidx:InvoiceProperties/pidx:PartnerInformation/pidx:PartnerIdentif‌ier[@partnerIdentifierIndicator=DunsNumber']. partnerIdentifierIndicator can be either DunsNumber or Duns+4Number.

Anyone have some freeware or open source suggestions for a file uploader with these attributes?

Must have drag and drop
Must do multiple files and handle folder uploads
Must allow custom folder renaming

I'd do it myself but A) I've read PHP can't handle all of these at once B) I'd probably have to learn a new coding language and I don't think thats going to be as quick as I need C) I've read that though Flash is perfect for this it has hangups on being cross browser

What you read was wrong: PHP (and any other server-side language) in concert with a client-side scripting language (javascript) can handle what you want. can Don't use flash. It sucks and it's dying out. Use open technologies.

Well I know how to handle the renaming via PHP and single file uploads, but I'm not sure how it would be possible to do Drag and Drop file uploads using JS and PHP

If you don't even know where to start I would definitely suggest using a third-party lib. I can't offer any suggestions or vouch for the efficacy of any existing packages, though.

When it comes to Drag and Dropping folders, no I'm not sure where to start, seems above my head at my current level, maybe not but I haven't found anything suggesting that its easy.
