Is there something like std::map that also lets me access keys by ordered lookup? I know I can iterate but I want to jump to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd element stored? Does that exist?

Accessing the n-th element is not a lookup, is it?

Boost.Container has flat_map which is associative and random-access (n-th element, not lookup).

@Nooble I have an include dir and roughly speaking as many directories as there are executables/libraries to build. E.g. source typically but also test for tests.

@Nooble Distributing binary source is a nightmare, and requires weeks of checking and validation. Consider different name mangling conventions and instruction set incompatibilities between processors. For example, people at The HDF Group have a VM that runs like 512 build configurations.
