@Ell They apply pretty much equally to at least most algorithms. Those are basically specifying the properties of the material. The shading algorithm then decides how to rasterize that--i.e., how to draw what pixels based on the interaction of the material, lighting and viewing angle.

@CatPlusPlus You can save(config?)-scum character unlocks if you’re so inclined.
I enjoy the mechanics and ambience, so I don’t mind running into the wall of RNG too much. Screw unlocks.

E.g. finishing with a melee character was an interesting and enjoyable experience :) No over-reliance on lucky drops, although the end boss fight was… peculiar (kinda have to credit the Enforcer teammate and drones for that one).

I think I've seen or read about it sometime ago. Some people analyzed and categorized players into 4 (IIRC) categories: the achiever (gimme a goal), the explorer (gimme a nice world to explore), the over achiever (i have hours to spend doing something tedious to be the only one to do this thing), the killer (i dunno what this did precisely).
Or something along those lines.

@LucDanton My favourite strategy starts with early Slavery and jumps to Representation + Caste System as soon as possible. Pyramids FTW.

@CatPlusPlus I’ve found that place where I can find enough challenge to make it interesting, but short of stacking the odds against me/cranking up the difficulty slider I don’t get that discouraging mixed feeling of helplessness and unfairness that the silly AI bonuses tend to lead to.
