The best thing you can do is upvote the better answer.

And maybe leave a comment why you think it's better.

It usually outscores, sometimes greatly (something like 11 vs 124)

It's just a blemish on the OP.

Most of the situations are those accepted answers who specifically target the OP's errors/problems like "do this and you'll be up and running again", while the better one would give the rationale and best practices and general rules, etc.
