Yes, it's unfortunately a very common mistake to write something that constructs a lazy LINQ using a loop variable that is a reference

@BartoszKP Regardless of impurity, there's the intransparent performance implications. O(n*m*o*p*q*r) out-of-sight, much longer-lived GC heap references than apparent etc. (not to mention ooooooodles of tiny helper instances for each lazy extension/lambda)

Well, one thing that is wrong with the code is that you are assigning a string literal to a char*.
